Sound Mixer – DP – Director
Sound: Kleven is a freelance Production Sound Mixer based in Seattle Washington. Kleven is known for his strong work on narrative feature films, television pilots, documentaries, and corporate video. Sound clients have included Microsoft, Boeing, Amazon, The University of Washington, Concur, ARRI Cameras, Nickelodeon, and ABC TV. His sound kit is top of the line featuring Sound Devices 6ss recorder, DPA 4017 and Sennheiser MK50 microphones, Sennhieser wireless lav mics, Lectrosonic IFB’s and Zaxcom wireless camera hop.
Camera: Kleven is an experienced Director of Photography and camera operator. He has lensed documentary projects in Europe, Mexico, and Alaska in addition to his documentary and corporate work in the Pacific Northwest. He has a solid camera package included the Canon 7D MII, fast lenses, a lovely selection of lights and light modifiers and computer DIT workstation
Director: Kleven has a broad background in project management and development. From directing Sam Shephard’s Buried Child in college to music videos, narrative, documentary work and countless corporate projects Kleven is adept at fostering a creative environment. His warm confident leadership brings projects in on time and under budget. Clients have included Payscale, Unity 3D, The Center for Wooden Boats, musician and glass artist Preston Singletary, The Washington Access Fund and United Churches Emergency Fund.
Michael Kleven has been passionate about photography all of his life. Clients include the city of Bellevue’s Youth Link program, NW environmental advocates, Forterra, author and speaker May McCarthy. His work has been published in the Cirque Literary Journal and the Seattle Times.
